CCTV Policy

Introduction

This policy outlines the management and use of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems within the amusement and gaming arcade to ensure the safety and security of customers, employees, and property. The CCTV system will operate in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including data protection and privacy standards.

Purpose of CCTV

The CCTV system is installed for the following purposes:

  • To enhance the safety and security of customers, staff, and property.
  • To deter and detect criminal activity.
  • To assist in the resolution of disputes or incidents.
  • To provide evidence in case of legal or disciplinary proceedings.

 

Scope

This policy applies to all CCTV systems operated by Star Leisure, including internal and external cameras. It covers all individuals visiting or working within the premises.

CCTV Coverage

Cameras will be strategically placed to monitor:

  • Entrances and exits.
  • Gaming and recreational areas.
  • Cash handling areas and offices.
  • External surroundings, including car parks.

 

Privacy and Data Protection

  • CCTV cameras will not be installed in private areas such as restrooms or staff changing rooms.
  • Signs will be prominently displayed to inform individuals that CCTV is in operation.
  • The system will not use audio recording.

 

Data Management

  • Storage: Recorded footage will be securely stored for a maximum of 30 days unless required for investigation or legal purposes.
  • Access: Access to CCTV footage will be restricted to authorised personnel only.

 

  • Disclosure: Footage will only be shared with law enforcement or authorised parties in compliance with legal requirements.

Maintenance and Monitoring

  • The CCTV system will be regularly inspected and maintained to ensure functionality.
  • Monitoring will be conducted in a professional and ethical manner by trained personnel.

 

Incident Reporting

  • Any incidents requiring review of CCTV footage must be documented and reported to the designated manager.
  • Staff or customers can request access to CCTV footage related to themselves in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

This policy will be reviewed annually or whenever significant changes occur to ensure ongoing compliance with legal and operational requirements.

Compliance

Failure to comply with this policy may result in disciplinary action for staff or restricted access to the premises for customers.
